Current Research

I am currently working on a project at the University of Oxford on the impact of austerity on new parents. Becoming a parent for the first time is a huge change. It can be chaotic, confusing and wonderful all at once. Almost all parents rely on the support of others to help them through this transition, from midwives, to stay-and-play groups to family. Yet, although we know that this support is essential, we know little about how austerity has come to impact the experiences of new parents. This project aims to trace these impacts through research with parents living in the city of Oxford. To learn more, visit www.oxfordnewparents.com

I am also working on an edited book about ‘home’, an article on pub culture, and other bits of writing that I will share here as they start to develop more.

For questions about any of this, feel free to contact me!
